We all have our own stories to tell. The beginnings of my life frame an unfortunate and sad tale. However, thanks to the strength of resilience and the life-sustaining companionship of the creative arts, I am most fortunate to be living the gift of life given to me by my mother.
Intention and connection are foundational elements in my photography,
Putting together a body of work requires deliberation and consideration of lighting, composition, and mood. It is also about conveying emotions and suggesting narratives that resonate deeply, first with me and then, hopefully, with the viewers of my work.
Intentional photography requires thought and execution, but curiosity and openness to changing conditions and lighting are key components of my work process. Flexibility to see uncommon scenes is part of my process.
In my art, I photograph nature, landscape, wildlife, architecture, and fascinating people. My intention with my photography is to display an emotional connection to the scene or the person in the image.
The camera shutter's click is just one of the steps in my work process. Post-production plays a significant role in my photography. The computer monitor is my canvas, and the camera is my paintbrush. After I have uploaded my images, I review them to see where they can be cropped, stretched, and manipulated to capture the mood I felt when I came across the scene. I want the finished image to reflect the emotion and the vibe I felt when I took the photo. Although I will spend a lot of time manipulating my post-production work, the final version must be authentic.
